March 2015

March was on fire…until we had a late season cold front the last week in March that knocked the water temperature from the high 70′s  to the mid 60′s . Fishing was tough after the cold front and slowly picked back up to end the month strong. Most days clients would catch 20-30 Snook ranging 22″-25″. On almost all of the trips clients went home with keeper Redfish and Trout  (those that wanted to keep fish). As we move into April the Snook, Redfish, and Trout bite should remain strong. White-Bait has moved from deeper structure around bridges and piers to the grass flats to spawn. This has made it a bit more challenging to catch bait, but we have manage to get enough for our trips, we just have to work a lot harder to get it.  We ended March with a Tarpon hook-up that we were able to keep on the line for about 5 mins and get 3 good jumps out of her before the hook pulled. As we move into April more Tarpon will start showing up and the bite should be more consistent. If you are looking to book at fishing charter or fishing trip and are near Anna Maria Island, Bradenton Beach, Holmes Beach, Longboat Key, Bradenton, Sarasota, St. Pete, or Tampa areas book with Bradenton Inshore Fishing call Fishing Guide Capt.
